Narration

Updated: Dec 29, 2025

The SafecomLink Narration feature provides Text-to-Speech functionality, allowing important operational and communication elements to be read aloud to the operator.

Key Value Proposition

Narration transforms visual cues into vocal alerts and spoken content, allowing operators to monitor critical communications, such as messages, alerts, and connection attempts, without constantly staring at the screen.

Operational Details and Benefits

  • Core Function: The feature provides real-time narrations of various activities, including messages, alerts, beacons, and hand-raises.

  • Narrated Events: Operators can selectively enable narration for different types of traffic through the "Appearance and Sounds" settings menu.

  • Customization: Users can choose their preferred narration voice (e.g., Male or Female).

  • Narration Queue: The system handles multiple announcements by utilizing a narration queue, ensuring that various items are narrated one by one rather than simultaneously.

  • Platform Limitation: The Narrations feature is completely disabled when SafecomLinkis running in Linux compatible mode (e.g., using WINE on Linux/Pi/Mac platforms).
